2014 SR Suntour Fork Dropout Recall (Scott)

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Scott has voluntarily issued a safety recall on its bicycles made with SR Suntour suspension forks.

The recall issue
These bicycles have been recalled because the fork dropouts can break. If this happens, it poses a fall hazard to riders. The recalled Scott bikes were sold at authorized Scott dealers nationwide between October 2010 and November 2013 for between $450 and $1,100.

There has been 1 reported incident of a broken fork. No injuries were reported.

How to identify if you have this fork
This recall involves roughly 5,200 model year 2011-2013 Scott bicycles with SR Suntour NEX and NCX suspension forks. The models recalled are the 2011 Sportster 10 Men, Sportster 10 Solution, Sportster 25 Men, Sportster 25 Solution, Sportster 30 Men, Sportster 30 Solution, Sportster 55 Lady, and Sportster 55 Men; the 2012 Sportster 30 Men and Sportster 55 Lady; and the 2013 Sportster X30 Men, Sportster X30 Solution, Sportster X40 Men, Sportster X50 Men, and Sportster X50 Lady.

The bikes have the brand name "Scott" on the down tube; the location of the model name varies. The fork's model name is printed on the outer sides of the fork.
